How to connect your metamask to the Polygon network

Follow the steps described in this article

Reental started to get stuck in the Ethereum network but due to the very high gas costs we had no option and we migrated to one of the best networks at the time, the BSC. We were in the latter until March 2023 when we migrated to POLYGON, the network we are on right now. It was a difficult but wise decision since we have greatly reduced the gas costs of any transaction.

Tokens and contracts are found on this blockchain, thus achieving great advantages for users by minimizing costs. The only difference compared to other networks such as Ethereum is that we need to connect to this network and we need MATIC (Polygon's native token) to pay for both the “gas” of the transactions and the purchase of tokens.

If you are a Metamask user and you want to continue to be a Metamask user on the Polygon network, here are the steps to do so.

Remember that it's very important before moving any token, to make sure you're on the right network.

At best, this one won't work with Polygon dApps. At worst, you could lose your funds by sending them to addresses you can't actually use.

Below is a video with the process in the EASIEST way or if you prefer you can follow the steps described in this article.

Or, you can follow these steps to connect to Polygon manually:

1- Open metamask and click on the top left as shown in the image.

2- Select “add network”.

3- Now we have two options:

3.1- Add the network manually with the following data:

Network Name: Matic Mainnet
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com/
Chain ID: 137
Currency Symbol (optional): MATIC
Block Explorer URL (optional): https://polygonscan.com/

3.2- Add the POLYGON network from the list provided by metamask:

It will then automatically ask us if we want to switch to the network of
Polygon, we'll say yes.

Once Guards the network and return to the main view, you'll notice two things: the network has been automatically configured the one you just joined, and the units are no longer denominated in ETH, but in MATIC.

Make transactions.

As we already know, Polygon's native token is MATIC. We need to have MATIC to be able to buy real estate tokens and pay for the (small) gas associated with the operations.

Conclusions

MetaMask has long been the go-to passport for accessing the expansive Ethereum landscape. But, with minimal effort, anyone can configure it to point to Polygon. This allows them to enjoy years of development to make MetaMask an indispensable tool for anyone who interacts with decentralized applications.

How to buy tokens in this pool or in the next property?

  • signup within Greental.co and complete the KYC.
  • Request the Whitelisting on the platform itself.
  • After a few hours of reviewing the previous points, we will let you know and you can now interact against these tokens (and all the ones we release).

Here's a GUIDE for beginners in Reental that will help you with the entire process until you become an investor in tokenized properties.
